The Board of Directors of the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE) wishes to provide the opportunity for public comment regarding the "Code of Professional Conduct for IBCLCs" (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants), which will replace the "Code of Ethics for IBCLCs".

The name is finally official: ELACTA has been accepted as our new name and the changes in the bylaws! We are so pleased and are full of vim and vigor to give a voice to the lactation consultants in Europe through ELACTA.

VELB, as the European Association, addresses you bilingually in the Homepage so that you can find all information in English and in German. There is also information on the French and Italian continuing education offerings of the VELB European Institute for Breastfeeding and Lactation in these languages.

Publications can be found on the page titled Worth knowing.
Among these are the new ILCA guidelines “Clinical Guidelines for the Establishment of Exclusive Breastfeeding” published in 2005 and by VELB in German translation in 2006.

You will find information on continuing education under Training/Continuing Education through the VELB European Institute for Breastfeeding and Lactation..
